自慰视频-G Canvas Open Lab

自慰视频-G Canvas Open Lab: M/W 2:00; T 3:00 in the SSTC computer lab. However, this is just a general drop-in option. Contact Dr. Tracy Lassiter, Coordinator of Digital Learning, if you need an appointment time, location, or modality (e.g., Zoom meeting) that better fits your schedule.

Workshop Series:

Faculty are invited to attend various workshops and demos offered by Dr. Lassiter, fellow branch online coordinators, and others. At least one training workshop will be offered each month, and our 自慰视频-G workshops will be offered on campus twice, on different days, times, and spaces, in an effort to accommodate our various teaching schedules. The sessions will be broadcast over Zoom and recorded, with assistance from campus IT, and later uploaded to this page for faculty who are interested in viewing a session.

In-person attendance is preferred since some of the workshops require participation or provide hands-on experience with a software program or educational site. As an incentive to attend this series, faculty who attend all eight sessions will achieve Gold Status; faculty who attend five sessions will achieve Silver Status; and faculty who attend three sessions will achieve Bronze Status. Awards for Status achievement and a year-end Professional Development Celebration will be held in the spring.

Of Gallery Walks and Padlet: Enhancing Student Collaboration

Active learning is a primary way for students to retain course content. Turning the active learning strategies you use in person into digital versions is not an impossible task; it just takes creative thinking and using the right digital tools. This workshop introduces gallery walks as an active learning strategy and shows how an online tool can replicate them for online instruction.

Making the Most of Video

While making a personal video using university software like Kaltura is a bit time-consuming, students benefit from seeing you and getting a sense of who you are. But today an array of video options, from 自慰视频 production to educational software, allows you to take your video content to a whole new level. We’ll learn about options plus comporting with UDL and other best practice considerations.

*Related to this workshop, we’ll host a demo by one video program, GoReact. Date/time of that separate demo to be announced later.

“Tasks Before Apps”: Choosing the Best Tools for Your Future Classes

As a wrap-up, we revisit the various tools and teaching ideas we learned about during the series. Since we’ve discussed many new tools with more emerging all the time, it would be easy to get overwhelmed by all the online options at your disposal. We’ll talk about how to choose the strategy(-ies) that work best for you and how you plan to integrate them. If you have any last-minute online programs or ideas to share, please bring information about them so faculty have time to investigate them as they plan their summer and fall courses.
